This page explains who publishes this site and, above all, how the blog articles are made. It is here so that nobody has to guess.

1. Who makes it

ControlarGastos is a web app for splitting shared expenses between partners, flatmates and groups of friends. There is no publishing company and no newsroom behind it: it is an independent project, built and maintained by the same person who decides what goes on the blog.

2. How the articles are written

With the help of artificial intelligence. We say so here because that is what we do, and because we would rather state it than have you work it out:

  • The topic and the angle are decided by the project, not by the model. Each article is commissioned from one of the blog topics and from our own editorial rules: a minimum length, concrete worked examples and no generic filler.
  • A language model writes the text following that brief, and it is published automatically.
  • There is an automated review every day. A daily process checks published and scheduled articles —translations included— against the site's quality rules (title and description length, word count, own cover image, tags) and sends an email about the ones that fail.
  • An article that is wrong gets fixed or retired. Once retired it stops being served, it is marked as not indexable and it leaves the sitemap.

Articles are signed by ControlarGastos, not by a person: the project is what answers for them. What appears under the byline is the topic each piece belongs to, and every topic has its own page with everything published on that subject.

3. Every figure in the examples is made up

No example in these articles comes from the real data of the people who use the app. Not identified, not aggregated, not anonymised: the financial data in an account is used to serve its owner and nothing else — certainly not to write content or to feed any third-party model.

That is a project rule, not a marketing line, and it is spelled out in the Privacy Policy.

4. What this blog is NOT

The blog explains ways to split expenses and works through examples, but it does not constitute accounting, tax, legal or financial advice, as stated in the Terms and Conditions. The numbers in the articles illustrate a method; yours are yours.

5. If you find a mistake

Write to [email protected], the site's contact channel, with the address of the article and what is wrong. It will be corrected or retired.
